Evan Markowitz
Mr. Markowitz is a native Floridian and was born and raised in Winter Haven, Florida. He has been with Athenian Academy for 5 years as a teacher and is entering his 2nd year as the school's Principal. Mr. Markowitz has a passion for working with children and truly enjoys working with the school's chorus program to put on fantastic musical productions each year. He strives to help each student achieve his or her dreams and challenges teachers with the following thought, “If we teach today’s students as we taught yesterday’s, we rob them of tomorrow.” Mr. Markowitz believes in providing students with an education, which engages all students through the utilization of Kagan Cooperative Learning Structures. It is his goal to help Athenian Academy become a Kagan Model School.

During his free time, Mr. Markowitz enjoys spending time with his family and also traveling. In addition, he enjoys visiting the various Disney World Parks and Resorts and riding on classics such as Space and Splash Mountain, Figment, Tower of Terror, and the Carousel of Progress, as well as new additions like Flight of Passage. Mr. Markowitz has a special appreciation for Walt Disney's work and finds great inspiration in it. "The best way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing." ~ Walt Disney

"Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do."
